Rosella C. Anderson Jan. 18, 1930 - Sept. 13, 2008

PAYNESVILLE -- Rosella Cornelia Anderson, 78, of Paynesville, formerly of Brooten, died Saturday at the Paynesville Area Hospital.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten. Inurnment will be in South Lake Johanna Lutheran Cemetery in rural Brooten.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Brooten and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Brooten, to George and Florence Huseth. She grew up on a farm near Brooten and attended District No. 4 Pope County School. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Brooten and a graduate of Brooten High School.

She married Stanley Anderson on Sept. 17, 1949, in Brooten. They made their home on a farm west of town.

She worked various jobs in the area until 1974 when she took a position as assistant cook at Brooten Elementary School. From 1987 until 1995, she worked at the school as head cook. In the early 1970s, Rosella and Stanley moved into Brooten. She lived there until moving to Paynesville about 10 years ago.

She was a charter member of the Brooten Ambulance and a foster grandparent at Paynesville Elementary School.

She is survived by her children: Gary of Brooten, Kenny (and Carmen) of Brooten and Carol (and David) Liestman of Paynesville; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; children: Stephan, James and Ramona; and one grandchild.
