Rosella G. Jergenson July 26, 1921 - May 7, 2009
STARBUCK -- Rosella Geneva Jergenson, 87, of Glenwood, formerly of Starbuck, died Thursday at Glenwood Retirement Village.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. Burial will be in Rolling Forks Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church and for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
She was born July 26, 1921, in Rolling Forks Township, Pope County, to Judin and Dora (Benjaminson) Stadsvold.
She married Elmer Jergenson on June 27, 1940. They lived in Rolling Forks Township. She worked at Earl B. Olson's Swift Falls Division and later at Fingerhut in Benson. She was also an Avon lady. They moved to Starbuck in 1987 and, in 2007, she moved to Touch of Country in Starbuck. She became a resident of Glenwood Retirement Village in 2008.
She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and served with her husband as church custodians for many years.
She is survived by her sons: Doran (and Terri) of Swift Falls and Galen (and Nancy) of Alexandria; son-in-law: Gerald (and Betty) Baumer of Stingler, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings: Julian Stadsvold and Alva (and Walter) Engebretson, all of Starbuck.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003; daughter: Gail; and one brother.
