RU Game: Willmar girls finish 2nd at Pacesetters tourney

The Willmar girls 5th grade basketball team finished second at the state Pacesetters tournament Sunday at the College of St. Benedict. The team defeated Cloquet in the first round, downed Eden Valley-Watkins in the second round, and lost to Roseau in the championship game.

The first and second place teams play the first and second place teams from Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota at the Target Center on Aug. 19 before a Minnesota Lynx game in the eight-team 2012 Great Four State Tournament. The New London-Spicer 8th grade girls team also will play in the tournament.
