BENSON -- Ruby Luverne Hoiland, 90, of Benson, died Sunday at the Swift County Benson Hospital.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson. Burial will be in the Benson City Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
She was born Jan. 21, 1918, in West Bank Township, Swift County, to Robert and Alma (Lundquist) Darling.
She attended country school and graduated from Appleton High School in 1936. She managed the family home because of the illness of her mother. She worked at the Fairway Foods store in Benson during World War II.
She married A. Leonard Hoiland on June 11, 1944, in Holloway. They lived in Benson and started the Benson Mobile Manor, among other endeavors. She was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church and organized the annual chicken supper.
She is survived by her sons: Doug (and Mary) Hoiland of Rogers, Joel (and Melinda) Hoiland of Chicago, Bob (and Jane) Hoiland of Ramsey, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; an infant son: Phillip in 1961; and seven brothers and sisters.
