Running: Law Day Run had record field

WILLMAR -- The Law Day/Memorial Day 5K Run had a record number of finishers on Saturday. The 196 runners who received a time are 25 more than the previous record of 171 in the 2007 event. Last year's run had 163 finishers. The first race in 2000 had 49 finishers.

This year's overall winner was Joel Dudgeon, 42, of Wabasso in 17:26. It's the third win and second straight on the Robbin's Island course for the school teacher.
