MONTEVIDEO -- Ruth Lorraine Anderson, 74, of Montevideo and formerly of rural Clara City, died Sunday at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church, rural DeGraff. Burial will be in the Buffalo Lake Mission Covenant Cemetery.
Visitation with be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
She was born Jan. 2, 1935, near Belview to Axel and Alma (Larson) Hultquist. She grew up near Belview and graduated from Belview High School in 1953. She was trained as a beautician and had her own beauty shop in Echo for many years.
She married Ellis Anderson on Feb. 4, 1967, in Redwood Falls. They lived and farmed in Louriston Township, Chippewa County. She had been a member of the Buffalo Lake Mission Covenant Church and was a member of Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church in rural DeGraff at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Farmers Union. She was a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home for nearly five years.
She is survived by her son: Peter Anderson of rural Clara City; siblings: Ralph (and Pat) Hultquist of Coon Rapids and Walter (and Vesta) Hultquist of Burnsville, Pauline Jones of England, Evelyn (and Bill) King of Princeton, Lois (and Jean) Meyer of Missouri and Esther Cocherell of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007.
