Scattered slippery spots forming around west central Minnesota
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises drivers to slow down and turn off their cruise control in west central Minnesota. While roads are generally in fair to good condition, the warmer temperatures combined with blowing snow are creating scattered slippery spots, MnDOT says in a news release.
MnDOT crews are out working to improve road conditions.
MnDOT says motorists should remember to:
· Drive slowly on bridges, overpasses and tunnels.
· Use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.
· Keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you.
· Keep both hands on the steering wheel, eyes on the road and attention on your driving.
