Donna Marie Martinson of the Palmer Bus Service was treated and released from Renville County Hospital in Olivia after her school bus collided with a semi trailer at the intersection of Renville county roads 1 and 11 around 7:18 a.m. Monday.

According to a Renville County Sheriff's Department news release, Martinson was driving the school bus, with six juvenile passengers, northbound on County Road 1 when she signaled for a right turn onto County Road 11 while moving into the turning lane.

Todd Michael Gunderson, 35, of Danube, was following the school bus in the semi trailer and moved into the left lane to give the bus more room to turn. Martinson then turned on her left turn signal, made a left turn, and hit the semi. Gunderson and the six juvenile passengers were not injured.

The Renville County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident. The Minnesota State Patrol, Danube Police Department and Danube First response all assisted at the accident scene.
