Scott Bratsch Sept. 8, 1962 - April 22, 2009
OLIVIA -- Scott Bratsch, 46, of Olivia, died Wednesday at his home in a farm accident.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Olivia. Burial will be in the Olivia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and continues at the church for one hour prior to the service.
He was born Sept. 8, 1962, at Redwood Falls, to Wendell and Mary Jo (Toussaint) Bratsch. He graduated from Danube High School. He first attended the University of Minnesota at Waseca and then graduated from South Dakota State University at Brookings, S.D. with a degree in agronomy.
On Dec. 5, 1987, he married Jan Wetzel in Olivia. He was employed by DeKalb at the Brandon, S.D., office and they lived in several communities in South Dakota. He later transferred to the DeKalb office in Olivia. He had farmed since 1990. He drove truck for various businesses during the winter and had worked for Precision Soya. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Olivia.
He is survived by his wife; children: Connor and Victoria; his mother, all of Olivia; siblings: Jeff (and Lynn) Bratsch, Mike (and Carol) Bratsch, all of Danube, and Lisa (and Pat) Romano of North Branch.
He was preceded in death by his father.
