GRAND RAPIDS - Scott Allen Randleman, age 56, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota died Thursday, December 20, 2012, at him home in Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Renville, Minnesota. The Rev. Tom Evenson will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville. Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the services at the church in Renville. Arrangements with Dirks-Blem Funeral Home, Renville, Minnesota.
Scott Allen Randleman was born in Granite Falls, Minnesota on December 23, 1956 to Donald and Ruth (Brummer) Randleman. He grew up in Renville and graduated from Renville High School in 1976. Scott continued his education at Anoka Ramsey Technical School in the Chefs Training program. He served his country in the United States Air Force for two years. Following the service, he returned to Olivia and worked as a chef at Coltons Night Club and also at the Sheep Shedde Restaurant. He was united in marriage to Laurie Wagner on April 23, 1983, at First Lutheran Church in Renville. They later divorced. He later worked as a surveillance operator at Jackpot Junction in Morton. In the early 2000s, Scott moved to Grand Rapids and has lived there since. He enjoyed playing cards, music, singing, and fishing until his health no longer permitted it.
Survivors include his son Christopher (and special friend Nancy Mathison) of Olivia; his mother Ruth Randleman of Renville, his brother Gary (and Cathy) Randleman of Friendswood, TX, his nephews and nieces: Tim Randleman, Richard Randleman, Seth Randleman, Elizabeth Dunnivan, Jennifer Randleman, and Kate Elliott; his sister-in-law Karen Randleman, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Donald, his brother Dewey, and his grandparents.
