S.D. dairy farm immigration raids nets 7 arrests
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Twenty-seven people were arrested Wednesday in an immigration raid at dairy farms in northeast South Dakota.
Thirteen people face charges of identity theft. Fourteen are accused of being in the country illegally.
Tim Counts with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minnesota said an investigation began three months ago when a man stopped by the Highway Patrol presented suspicious documents. He says further investigation revealed others who were using invalid or stolen Social Security numbers to register vehicles.
