Season ends for Smith, Captains

Willmar native Jordan Smith and the Lake County Captains fell to the Fort Wayne TinCaps 13-6 in Game 3 of the best-of-three series in the Midwest League Eastern Division finals Monday. The TinCaps advance to play for the MWL championship against the Western Division champion Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in a best-of-five series.

The Timber Rattlers feature former Willmar Stingers' pitcher Jacob Barnes. Barnes pitched for the Stingers in 2010. He tossed 93-2/3 innings this season with 83 strikeouts and a 3.84 ERA for Wisconsin.
