Second victim dies in Granite Falls, Minn., shooting
WILLMAR - The second victim in a shooting last week in Granite Falls apparently has died.
KARE 11 TV reported Sunday afternoon that Christopher Panitzke, 28, of Redwood Falls died at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he was hospitalized in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.
Panitzke's family wrote Sunday on his Caring Bridge site that his condition had deteriorated over the past 24 hours and that he died at about 2:15 p.m.
The shooting early on the morning of Labor Day also claimed the life of Kara Ann Monson, 26, of Granite Falls. Her funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Granite Falls Lutheran Church in her hometown of Granite Falls.
Authorities had no new leads this weekend in their search for the whereabouts of Andrew Dikken, who is described as a person of interest in the shootings. Dikken, 28, lives in Granite Falls. His abandoned pickup truck was found Wednesday in a gravel pit off a rural road south of Sacred Heart.
