Second wave of troops returning today

MONTEVIDEO -- Welcome home ceremonies are scheduled today for the second wave of returning troops with the 1st Battalion, 151st Field Artillery.

Montevideo

The 95 soldiers with the headquarters and headquarters battery will be returning to the Montevideo Training and Command Center and Montevideo High School at 11 a.m. today. A welcome back ceremony will follow.

Appleton

The 150 soldiers with the 175th forward support company will be arriving at the Appleton Armory at 11: 30 a.m. today.

Morris and Ortonville

The 101 soldiers with 'C' Battery from the Morris and Ortonville bases will arrive at the Morris Armory at noon.

In all of the communities, the public is welcome to join the welcome home ceremonies and greet the soldiers as they arrive in town. The soldiers are returning following a 12-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The troops with units in Olivia, Madison, and Marshall returned on Friday.

The 550 soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 151 Field Artillery were headquartered at Camp Buehring, Kuwait and provided convoy security to carry supplies to forward operating bases throughout Iraq.
