Seehusen hit in ninth lifts Rails past Regal, 5-4

WILLMAR -- The Willmar Rails scrapped for two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to slip past Regal 5-4 in Cornbelt League action Friday at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Trailing 4-3, Mark Krogstad lead off the inning with a pinch-hit double and took third on a passed ball. Josh Dahlke dropped down a suicide squeeze with one out to tie the game.

Then Matt Seehusen smacked a single to center field to score Matt Sagedahl, who walked, with the winning run.

Regal took the lead with two runs in the eighth inning on Austen Hadley's double and Steve Gerding's squeeze bunt.

The Eagles scored the first runs of the game in the fourth inning on Cody Flanders' two-run double.

Willmar (5-5, 5-5) answered with a run in the bottom of the frame on Steve Wetterling's double. The Rails added two more runs in the sixth, one on an Anthony Stern single.

Jason Scheffler pitched four innings of relief for the win. He gave up two runs on three hits, struck out two and walked one.
