Senate confirms U.S. attorney for Minnesota
WASHINGTON -- Andrew Luger will become Minnesota's U.S. attorney.
An attorney in a Twin Cities firm, Luger has been an assistant U.S. attorney and investigated problems at the Metro Gang Strike Force.
After senators voted to confirm him, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., praised him: “Throughout his distinguished career, Andy has demonstrated a commitment to justice and his experience makes him well-qualified to serve as our U.S. attorney. ... With ongoing terrorism, drug and financial fraud investigations and cases pending, the hard-working men and women in the Minnesota U.S. attorney's office deserve a full-time leader and they now have one."
Luger's nomination had been stalled in the Senate.
