Sertoma honors Geselius with Service to Mankind Award
WILLMAR -- Jean Geselius received Sertoma's Service to Mankind Award at its annual banquet Sept. 16. The Service to Mankind Award recognizes outstanding individuals who serve the community.
Geselius is the chair-elect for the Rice Health Foundation Holiday Festival. She has been serving on various Holiday Festival committees for the past five years, including three years on publicity and two years on live auction.
She is a council member at Vinje Lutheran Church and is on the executive team. She is also a Loving Arms Child Care Center board member and council liaison.
Geselius volunteers for the Women's Fund through the Willmar Area Community Foundation as a publicity committee member. She has been a member of the Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission's marketing committee for five years, for most of her term she served as co-chair for the committee. In 2005, she received the Volunteer of the Year award from the EDC.
She has assisted United Way with the development of materials including both print and videos as well as running internal campaigns. In 2006, she received the Strong Supporter Award from United Way of Kandiyohi.
Geselius works at Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing as marketing coordinator.
She lives with her husband, Todd, in Willmar.
