Several hurt in van/bus crash
WILLMAR -- Two people were taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle accident around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 19th Avenue and 30th Street Southwest.
According to the crash report, a 1993 Nissan driven by Mohamed A. Issa, 24, of Willmar, turned out in front of a 2006 bus owned by the Renville County Heartland Express. Issa was taken to the hospital for treatment of chest pain and facial cuts.
The driver of the bus, Philip Standfuss, 52, of Danube, was not hurt. A passenger in the bus, Mike Bartlett, 44, was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Several other passengers complained of injuries, but were not transported to the hospital. There were a total of nine passengers on the bus.
Issa was cited for failure to yield and violation of an instruction permit.
