Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of Stearns, Pope, Kandiyohi, Swift and Meeker counties until 4:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Stearns, Pope, Kandiyohi, Swift and Meeker counties until 4:30 p.m.
The severe thunderstorm warning area includes southern Stearns County, southeastern Pope County, northern Kandiyohi County, northeastern Swift and northwestern Meeker County.
At 3:27 p.m., radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
The storm was located eight miles southwest of Brooten or about 15 miles southeast of Glenwood and moving east at 40 mph.
Locations in the warning area include Belgrade, Georgeville, Hawick, Lake Henry, Paynesville, Roscoe, Manannah, Eden Valley, Richmond, St. Nicholas, Cold Spring and Brooten.
