Severe thunderstorms approaching west central Minnesota

A line of strong thunderstorms has erupted along a line from International Falls to Ortonville, Minn., and is heading southeast across west central Minnesota and the rest of the state.

As a result of this storm system's strengths, the National Weather Service said severe thunderstorms are possible in west central Minnesota through 9 p.m. tonight.

At 5:24 p.m., the National Weather Service radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing golf ball size hail and damaging winds of 60 mph. The storm is located about 12 miles northwest of Morris and moving east at 30 mph.
