WILLMAR - The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office and the State Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the death of a Willmar woman.


According to a news release from Sheriff Dan Hartog, his office was called around 5 p.m. Monday to check on the welfare of an individual living along the 3000 block of east Highway 12, which is just outside the city limits of Willmar. Deputies arrived to find a woman deceased in the home. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension mobile crime lab was called to the scene and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The name of the individual is being withheld pending the notification of relatives. The Sheriff's Office expects more information to be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
