WILLMAR -- Shirley Sawyer, 87, of Willmar died Wednesday at Dassel Lakeview Ranch in Dassel.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home. Memorial preferred to the Dementia Care Foundation.
She was born Aug. 11, 1921, near Waupaca, Wis., to Fred and Sarah Rogers. She graduated from Bellin School of Nursing in 1946 and worked in hospitals and as a private duty nurse.
She married Carroll Sawyer in 1943. They lived on the family farm in Wisconsin for several years before moving to Wahpeton, N.D., and then to Willmar. They owned Crown Floral and Gifts in partnership with Wallace Peterson for many years. She worked at the floral store and assisted her husband with wedding photography. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Willmar.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters: Helen (and Bruce) Lindell of La Quinta, Calif.; Mary Faithfull of Austin, Texas; Janet (and Steve) Voss of Balsam Lake, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and a sister: Dorothy Arevalo of Waukesha, Wis.
She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and a grandson.
