Mohamed Abuzingla was arrested in October 2007.

Police said he drove his car at two men and then beat one of them with a metal object. Jesus Flores suffered life-threatening injuries but Fidel Ramos was not hurt.

After five months at the Human Services Center in Yankton, a staff psychiatrist said the court case should proceed because Abuzingla is now mentally competent to stand trial.

Orozco-Flores has also filed a civil lawsuit against Abuzingla seeking damages for his injuries, medical bills and lost wages.
