According to the latest statement from the National Weather Service, the snow should begin to gradually taper to flurries or end late this evening into overnight.

The winter weather advisory ends at 9 tonight in the Willmar, Montevideo and St. Cloud areas, though winds are causing blowing and drifting snow in the region, and that will likely continue through Tuesday morning.

As of early evening, snowfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches have been reported across west central Minnesota, the Weather Service says. Another 1 to 1.5 inches is expected through 9:30 p.m.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports fair driving conditions in most of west central Minnesota. According to MnDOT's online road report, there is reduced visibility in the area, snow on the roadways and slippery spots. Those conditions are expected to continue through the overnight.
