Snow in forecast for Willmar, region by noon today

WILLMAR — Light snow will begin by late morning across southwest and west central Minnesota and then spread northeast through the day. The National Weather Service is forecasting 1 to 2 inches in Willmar and the region, and slightly greater amounts of 3 to 4 inches from the Minnesota River Valley south to along the Interstate 90 corridor.
An upper level disturbance will bring several hours of light snow throughout the day and into much of Friday, possibly affecting the Friday morning commute.
The Weather Service says drifting snow is not expected to be a major factor as wind speeds will remain less than 15 mph, but the light snow may still cause travel problems, especially on untreated roadways.
