Snow plow, sugar beet truck collide near BNSF train crossing in rural Breckenridge

BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. - A collision between a snow plow and a sugar beet truck this morning has stopped train traffic south of here.

The State Patrol and the Wilkin County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash that occurred around 5:15 a.m. about three miles south of Breckenridge.

No injuries have been reported.

Thomas Miller, 44, of Breckenridge, was driving a Wilkin County snow plow south on Highway 75 and was turning onto County Road 158, the State Patrol said.

Paul Ellingson, 50, of Campbell, was driving the sugar beet truck and sideswiped the snow plow as he was passing the vehicle, the Patrol said. Roads were icy at the time.

The crash occurred near a train crossing. BNSF Railway has been notified to hold train traffic.
