Some snow expected early Friday, storm path headed for south central and eastern Minn.

WILLMAR - Most of west central Minnesota may miss the large scale winter storm moving out of the plains into portions of the central United States.

Some snow may fall across west central Minnesota beginning about 3 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch is expected Friday in the region.

Snow will move into south central Minnesota tonight and spread into eastern Minnesota and Wisconsin by Friday morning.

By the end of tonight, around 4 inches of snow will be possible along Interstate 90, with around 1 inch  from Redwood Falls over to the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin.

Moderate to heavy snow will continue through Friday morning, before slowly tapering off Friday afternoon in Friday night. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are possible across eastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin.
