Special Olympics basketball tourney Sunday in Willmar

Ten Special Olympics basketball teams are signed up for the first Sharon White Memorial Basketball Tournament from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Willmar City Auditorium.
The event is named in memory of the late Sharon White of Clara City. She died of cancer in 2012 after a career in support services while speaking out for the disabled community and valuing skills gained through Special Olympics.
Athletes and coaches will be fed at the Elks Club nearby. The event will help teams prepare for the upcoming regional/state tournaments.
