Spicer Council hears update on Lake Ave. project
SPICER -- Blacktopping of the newly reconstructed portion of Lake Avenue South in Spicer is scheduled to be finished in time for the city's Fourth of July celebration.
Construction officials provided an update on the road project Tuesday to members of the Spicer City Council.
The $3.3 million project involves a new road, new water and sewer lines and a new stormwater drainage system and retention ponds. The cost is being shared with Kandiyohi County, which has partial jurisdiction over the road.
Work on the east section of Lake Avenue South, extending to County Road 8, began last fall, then halted over the winter and resumed this spring.
Once this portion is completed, construction will shift to the next section, to the west.
