Spicer couple injured in Highway 23 accident

HAWICK - A Spicer couple was injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon south of Hawick.

According to the State Patrol, Mary Ann Sogge, 74, was driving a 2005 Chrysler van on state Highway 23 when she crossed the center line and clipped the tires on a semi tractor trailer traveling the opposite direction.

The report did not say which direction each vehicle was traveling. The van went off the road as a result of the impact.

Sogge and a passenger, Allan Sogge, 76, were treated an released for injuries at Rice Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the semi, Ronald Braunberger, 68, of Richmond, was not injured.

Besides the State Patrol, the Paynesville ambulance, New London ambulance and Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad responded to the accident, which was reported at 3:53 p.m.
