Spicer cuts interim worker's position
SPICER -- Now that the city of Spicer has its new city administrator on board, an interim worker at city hall will be released from her position this week.
The move was recommended by the Spicer City Council's personnel committee and forwarded to the full council on Tuesday.
Lori Campbell, who had served as the city's interim assistant city administrator since November, when the city's former administrator went on an unpaid medical leave, will put in her last day on Friday.
She also has worked as the city's assistant financial officer and utility billing clerk.
The staff reduction had been under discussion as a budget-cutting measure since last year.
It's expected to save about $24,000 for the rest of this year.
