St. John's JV topples Ridgewater

COLLEGEVILLE -- Sam Blank gunned for 24 points, including four 3-pointers, as the St. John's JV team avenged an earlier loss to Ridgewater 87-67 on Tuesday.

The Johnnies added five players that didn't make the trip to Willmar, noted Ridgewater head coach Bob Knutson.

Derek Eisenchenk led the Warriors (5-4) with 12 points. No other Warrior scored in double figures.

Cassey Sussenguth added nine points and Ben Moser and Shawn Neu eight apiece for the Warriors.

Ridgewater stayed with striking distance at halftime, trailing only by six at 40-34. But St. John's then outscored Ridgewater 47-33 in the second half.

Ridgewater hosts Fond Du Lac on Friday at 8 p.m. before hosting Central Lakes on Saturday at 3 p.m.
