Stage production opens tonight at Willmar, Minn., Senior High School

The Willmar High School music department presents "The Phantom of the Opera" at 7 p.m. tonight through Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday at the high school theater.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and available at the door. The tickets are almost sold out, with some singles left, ranging from one seat tonight to nine singles on Saturday evening. The Sunday matinee has 22 open seats, with a few together. There are always seats that are available at each performance if some one does not show up. The high school will do everything possible to seat people wanting to see the show. However, it is under the guidelines of the fire marshal for all additional seating.

The Phantom, played by Danny Tusa, is a disfigured musical genius, hidden away in the Paris Opera House. He terrorizes the opera company for the unwitting benefit of a young protégée, Christine Daaé played by Elise Haugen, whom he trains and loves.

The other main characters are Jonathan Pierskalla as Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny; Kassie Boller as Carlotta Giudicelli; Janessa Palmer as Meg Giry; Taylor Reinke as Madame Giry; Tyler Bakker as Monsieur Firmin; Paul Benson as Monsieur André; Jon Onnen as Ubaldo Piangi; Omar Valencia as Joseph Buquet; Chaz Fenske as Monsieur LeFèvre; and AJ Derouin as Monsieur Reyer.

Chorus members are Brady Anderson, Dan Anfinson, Shawn Carlson, Noah Daniel, Nathaniel Erickson, Scott Freitas, Ben Fuglestad, Jordan Gatewood, Brock Geselius, Tom Kerstetter, Jon Linden, Sam Murphy, John Palmer, Alex Reynolds, Zach Sowers, Charlie Trochlil, Austin Watson, Ayana Abdisalan, Hannah Anderson, Hannah Bateman, Rachel Croonquist, Brittany Curtiss, Shelby Danzeisen, Karina DeJong, Kiesha DeJong, Maddie Duininck, Abby Engle, Zahia Farhat, Kayla Fox, Ariel Gazelka, Katarina Gazelka, Jenet Gonzalez, Mary Goulson, Kirstyn Harasyn, Hannah Haugen, Sara Hauser, Ali Kveene, Liz Mangen, Tiff Marthaller, Jordan Martins, Kiley Mattson, Rosie Molenaar, Hannah Olson, Jordyn Peterson, Brooke Piepenburg, Tori Raths, Shelby Stevens, Flavia Vilkama, Zoe Vossen and Kim Wright.

The musical directors are Neal Haugen, Julene Haugen and Travis Michelson.

Rachel Schmidt is the student director and Brooke Piepenburg and Morgan Stoeberl are the student choreographers.

Members of the pit orchestra, under the direction of Terry Brau, are Rachel Arnold, Catherine Halvorson, Bonnie Kim, Phil Nadolny, Brian Daniel, Elle Stienessen, Elise Duininck, Jacob Broberg, Rachel Schmidt, Ariel Gazelka, AJ Derouin, Grant Schmitzerle, Ryan Haines, Carrie Bell, Mike Gleaves and Matt Gleaves.

Working the sets and backstage are Brad Bartlett, Gabe Benson, Ashley Bogan, Jacob Broberg, Kate Clarke, Debora Dalla Costa, Kyla Herman, Kaleigh Hoppe, Autumn Myers, Mariah Peterson, Izzy Ramirez, Stephon Schaller, Laura Schmidt, Elle Stienessen, Morgan Stoeberl, Shelby Studanski, Tina Vazquez and Kayla Watson.

Bryan Mara was the set director and Susie Johnson was the costume director.

Working the lights and sound under the direction of Terry Brau are Blake Anderson, Becky Arnold, Matt Bays, Dalton Blumhoefer, Cameron Haugen, Hannah Huseby, Christian Janitschke, Catey La Patka and Brandon Mogard.
