State lauds C.A.R.E. safety program

WILLMAR — A local program that specializes in helping people with mental illness overcome addiction has been recognized by the Minnesota Safety Council with a Governor’s Safety Award.

The Willmar Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise program received an Outstanding Achievement Award, which honors organizations with a record of outstanding or continuing improvement in workplace safety.

“Our team is our most important resource,” said C.A.R.E. Director Karen Jones. “We need to work together to make sure everyone is safe and healthy at work. It took a team effort to earn this award.”

The Willmar C.A.R.E. program is operated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
