State report: No travel in Traverse County, 18 inches in Kanabec County
ST. PAUL -- The State Department of Public Safety division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is monitoring the storm from the emergency operations center. HSEM officials are in contact with county emergency managers and the National Weather Service. No requests for any state assets or the Nation Guard have been made. Reports to HSEM include thousands of power outages in the Metro area, school closings in the central and northern part of the state, Minnesota Management and Budget closed state offices in Aitkin, Carlton, Lake, Pine and St. Louis counties, Traverse County officials are advising no travel, the Mille Lacs tribal offices are closed, Pine County reports 8 to 12 inches of snow, Kanabec County reports 18 inches.
