Stearns County crash kills Bloomington man
ST. CLOUD -- A Bloomington man was killed Monday in Stearns County when his pickup slammed into a bridge wall and was then struck by a semi.

According to the State Patrol, John Kalas, 62, of was going east on Interstate 94 when he lost control of the 2003 Chevy Silverado pickup he was driving. The vehicle spun out, struck a bridge wall and was then struck by a semi that was also going east.
Roads were icy at the time of the 3:26 p.m. crash.
Kalas was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital where he died.
The driver of the semi, Jodie Ashley, 46, of Kalispell, Mont. was not injured.
