MONTEVIDEO -- Stella Best, 85, of Montevideo, died Tuesday at Lutheran Haven.
The service will be at 10 a.m. today at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Visitation begins one hour prior to the service.
She was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Hankinson, N.D., to Otto and Annie Medenwaldt. She grew up and received her education in Hankinson. She lived in the Minneapolis area until 1995 and worked two jobs while raising her children.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and ladies auxiliary and ladies aid. As an adult, she discovered her given name was actually Evelyn.
She is survived by children: Joyce (and Richard Sr.) Laumb, Ross (and Carmen) Best, and Bryan Best, all of Montevideo, and Deborah Odegard Roeder of Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her sister: Judy Williams of Rogers.
