OLIVIA -- Stella Marie Sabin, 92, of Olivia, died Wednesday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Burial will be at a later date at Holy Family Church Cemetery, Belle Prairie.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.

She was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Ripley Township, Morrison County, to Albay and Lillian (Valley) Odette. She was raised in Little Falls and attended Holy Angels Academy in Belle Prairie and Sacred Heart School in Little Falls. After graduating from Little Falls High School in 1934, she attended Uptown School in Minneapolis for secretarial training. She worked as a receptionist and doctor's assistant in Minneapolis.

On Aug. 19, 1946, she married Richard J. Sabin. They lived in Olivia for many years. She worked at the Olivia Times Journal as a local news reporter, bookkeeper and receptionist for 10 years and worked part-time at the Olivia Public Library for 15 years.

She had been a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church since 1951, as well as the CCW.

She is survived by a brother: Edward Odette of Minneapolis; and three nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 4, 1989, and by two sisters.
