Steven D. Henze March 8, 1951 - April 15, 2008
NORTHFIELD -- Steven Dean Henze, 57, of Northfield died Tuesday at his home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Northfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
He was born March 8, 1951, in Belgrade to Orville and Reta (Schweitzberger) Henze. He was raised on his parents' dairy farm where he helped with chores and the farm work. He attended school in Belgrade and graduated in 1969 from high school.
He married Pamela Kay Johnson on Dec. 5, 1970, in Brooten. He worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation in the Paynesville area plowing snow in the winter and doing highway work during the remainder of the year. In 1979, he and his family moved to Northfield. He bought an Amoco Station with his brother. In 1984, they sold the Northfield station and bought a service station in Tempe, Ariz. For the next few years, they lived and worked in the Tempe/Mesa area. In 1991, he and his family moved back to Northfield where he worked at Malt-o-Meal in production. Over the years he became a line manager.
He is survived by his wife; sons: Brent (and, fiancée Alison Vivant) of Lakeville and Chad of Northfield; siblings: Stanley (and Tammy) Henze of Apple Valley, Larry (and Dee) Henze of Chino Valley, Ariz., Sally (and Kevin) Isaacson of Aberdeen, S.D.; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, including one in infancy.
