WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Steven Robert Brown was born August 3, 1948 in Willmar, Minnesota and died May 19, 2013 at the Veterans Administration's Community Living Center in West Palm Beach, FL.
Steven R. Brown was the son of Muriel and Walter (father deceased) Brown. Steve attended Willmar Sr. High School. Upon graduation in 1966 he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served until 1970. While deployed in the Vietnam Conflict he received The Bronze Star, The Airman's Metal with Valor, two Purple Hearts and was assigned to the United States Marines Corps. After serving his country Steve attended the Police Academy in Washington D.C. in 1970 and served on their police force. He then served in Mandan, North Dakota; Lake Clark Shores, FL; and finally the Palm Beach County Sherriff's Office, retiring in 2003 from the Motors Division.
Steve resided in Palm Springs, Florida where he was active in the Homeowners Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Karen Belneer on November 19, 1983.
He is survived by wife Karen Brown; children Christine Temean & Tanya McNarr; four grandchildren; mother Muriel Brown; sisters Joanell Schryver & Lynn Hauck; four nieces, two nephews, and his loyal dog Pee Wee.
The memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Breznen of Holly Cross Lutheran Church. Services will be held June 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Lane 3, South Florida Veterans Administration Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida.
