WILLMAR — The Florida Gulf Coast-to-Willmar pipeline is as strong as ever.

The Stingers added three more Eagles players to the 2014 roster, the team announced Wednesday.

Former Stingers’ closer and 2012 Northwoods League All-Star Brady Anderson will return after missing 2013 with a knee injury, and will be joined by FGCU teammates Brian Pruett and Nick Rivera.

The group is the latest in a long list of Eagles who have played summer ball in Willmar, including Michael Suchy, Michael Murray, Colton Bottomley, Zack Tillery, Jacob Barnes, Sean Dwyer and Ricky Knapp.

Anderson was a shutdown reliever for the Stingers in 2012 when he struck out 35 in 30 innings with a 3.00 ERA and 15 saves. He was scheduled to play for the Stingers last season but was injured before the spring season started, forcing him to take a medical redshirt.

Before his first turn with the Stingers, he earned a berth on the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team in 2012.

The Stingers will be getting another ASC All-Freshman in Rivera, who was named to the team in 2013, as well as being named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team. Splitting time between third base and designated hitter, he hit .287 and was second on the Eagles with eight home runs. He was also an on-base machine with a .395 OBP and slugged .492.

Pruett is a new transfer to FGCU from Coastal Carolina, where he started 57 games at shortstop as a freshman in 2012.

His playing time dwindled to eight starts last spring, and due to NCAA transfer rules, he will need to sit out the spring season but will be eligible for summer ball.

He hit .208 in 178 at-bats as a freshman and led the Big South with 186 assists.
