Willmar set franchise records for most runs scored in an inning, most runs in a game and most hits in a game (13). Eduardo Gonzalez ignited the Stingers by going 3-for-4, which included a three-run double in the fourth. Matt Serna also knocked in three runs for Willmar by going 2-for-5.

Chris Elder gave Rochester a quick 2-0 lead with a two-run homer in the third and an RBI double from Bryan Lippincott put the Honkers up 3-0 after 3½ innings.

Willmar then broke through in the fourth by sending up 11 players to the plate.

The first six batters reached base for Willmar with the first four -- Gonzalez, Jordan Smith, Mitch Delfino and Sean Dwyer -- collecting singles. Carter Bell then drew a bases-loaded walk and Anthony Bemboom drove in another run with a single. Gonzalez capped the big inning with a bases-clearing double.

Rochester pulled within two in the fifth, but Willmar scored a run in the sixth and three times in each of the seventh and eighth innings to stay in front. The Honkers plated four runs in the ninth.

Michael Jahns worked the fifth and sixth innings to pick up the win in relief of Stingers' starter Jeff Barto, who gave up six hits and three runs over the first four innings.

Rochester starter and loser Danny Winkler gave up eight hits and seven runs in 3Xc innings of work.

It was just Willmar's second win in its last six games. The Stingers (6-7) host Rochester (9-5) tonight at 7:05 p.m.
