Storm warnings issued in southwestern Minn.

WILLMAR -- Thunderstorm warnings are in effect for Redwood, Renville and Yellow Medicine counties as well as Lincoln and Lyon in southwest Minnesota.

The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a warning for Redwood County, southwestern Renville County and southeastern Yellow Medicine until 7 p.m.

According to the statement, radar indicted a line of storms capable of producing damaging winds of 65 mph along a line from Sacred Heart to Vesta to 8 miles east of Marshall to Russell and moving southeast. Nickel-size hail may accompany the winds.

The current warning for Lyon and east central Lincoln counties ends at 6:30. Half-dollar-size hail and destructive winds were forecast from Cottonwood to Camden State Park to Arco.
