Strong winds cause damage in Watertown, S.D.
National Weather Service officials in Aberdeen says it appears straight-line winds were responsible for damage to several mobile homes in Watertown early Monday.
Winds clocked in excess of 50 mph moved through Watertown about 2 a.m. Doug Kranz with the Watertown Fire Department says one of the damaged mobile homes was moved off its foundation. There also was a gas leak that had to be maintained.
Meanwhile, lake levels are on the rise again at Lake Poinsett after more than an inch of rain fell overnight.
There were no injuries reported with the early morning storms that moved through northeastern South Dakota.
