Strong winds continue today in Minnesota
WILLMAR -- Strong winds continue to affect west central through south central portions of Minnesota through this afternoon. The strongest winds are expected between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen.
A wind advisory remains in effect through 6 p.m. The advisory is for areas along and west of a line from Long Prairie to Litchfield to Hutchinson to Mankato to Blue Earth.
Strong south to southeast winds with sustained speeds of 25 to 35 mph, gusting to 45 mph, will be common in west central, southwest and south central Minnesota.
