Sunburg man dies in 1-vehicle accident
BENSON -- A 33-year old man died in a one-vehicle accident discovered early Friday morning on Swift County Road 35 at County Road 12, about three miles north of Kerkhoven in Pillsbury Township.
Lance Edward Thompson, of rural Sunburg, was pronounced dead as the scene by the Swift County coroner. It's believed Thompson was alone in his vehicle when it left the roadway and crashed, ejecting him from it, according to information from Swift County Sheriff Scott Mattison.
A Swift County sheriff's deputy discovered the single vehicle rollover crash at about 12:15 a.m.
The Kerkhoven Fire, Rescue and Ambulance squads assisted at the scene and helped search in case there were other victims.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Thompson was southbound when his vehicle left the road.
The Sheriff's office and coroner are continuing their investigation into the fatal crash.
