Suspect held after fleeing accident, threatening neighbors
GRANITE FALLS -- A 44-year-old man was taken into custody on Tuesday in Yellow Medicine County after fleeing officers and threatening his neighbors with a possible firearm, the Yellow Medicine Sheriff's office reported.
The incident unfolded after officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident in the city of Wood Lake at 1:47 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies located the suspect vehicle and arrested a 42-year-old female, according to the sheriff's department report. A male suspect took off on foot before the deputies reached the scene.
The male suspect returned to a neighbor's resident at 5:30 a.m. and threatened the neighbors with a possible firearm. Deputies launched a brief manhunt and were able to locate and take the man into custody.
Both the male and female suspects are awaiting formal charges in custody at the Yellow Medicine County Jail.
