PAYNESVILLE - Suzanne T. Holstad, 78 of Paynesville died Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday October 4, 2013 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the church and for one hour prior to the service on Friday where a 9:45 a.m. Catholic United Council #354 and Christian Women Rosary will be prayed. Entombment will be in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville. www.hafh.org Memorials may be directed to Hospice

Suzanne Theresa Holstad, the daughter of Leo and Katherine (Waldorf) Winter, was born on August 24, 1935 in the family home on the hill in Spring Hill. She grew up in Spring Hill where she attended elementary. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1954. On November 24, 1955, Suzanne was united in marriage to Alfred Holstad at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. This union was blessed with three daughters and one son. They made their home in Paynesville where she worked as a homemaker and part-time in a number of jobs where she could enjoy the people she would meet. Suzanne and Alfred were able to share in 57 years of marriage.

Suzanne was a faithful and active member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, find a word books, cooking, baking, working outside with her flowers, coffee with friends and spending time with family, especially the Sunday dinner.

She is survived by husband Alfred; children, Sheila (Paul) Shepherd of Paynesville, Lisa (Jim) Winkels of Albany, ODean Holstad of Spokane, WA and Kim (Terry) Johnson of Paynesville; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, Lilah Klaphake of Pierz.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Kevin V. Lieser and daughter-in-law, Brenda Holstad.
