Sviggum chooses to keep UMinn regents seat, will resign U teaching position

Email

MINNEAPOLIS - Former Minnesota House Speaker Steve Sviggum says he'll keep his seat on the University of Minnesota Board of Regents and resign from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs to end a conflict of interest.

A regents committee last week told Sviggum that holding both jobs at the university was a conflict and that he should choose one. Sviggum was appointed last month to the unpaid regents' seat. He was also a paid legislative fellow at the Humphrey School.
