Sylvester L. Schleppenbach July 8, 1933 - Oct. 26, 2008
WILLMAR -- Sylvester Leo Schleppenbach, 75, of Willmar died Sunday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Willmar with burial at Cloverleaf Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar, with a time of sharing at 6:30 p.m., and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born July 8, 1933, on the family farm near Albany to Frank and Anna (Meier) Schleppenbach. He attended school in the Albany area.
He married Patricia Wengler in 1962.
He married Jackie Kelly on June 19, 1987, in Willmar.
He worked for Moorehouse and Galaxy Turkey Farms for 17 years. He also worked in the maintenance department at Affiliated Medical Center in Willmar for the past 27 years.
He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where he volunteered.
He is survived by his wife; children: Diane (and Perry) Zahara of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; Paul (and Cheryl) Schleppenbach of Salol; Bernie (and Rod) Moser of Clark, Wyo.; step-children: Eugene Schultz of Lucan; Lisa Schultz of Willmar; Michelle Erickson (and fiancé Mark Thomas) of Willmar and Eric (and Kristin) Shultz of Edgerton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and siblings: Lucille (and Lawrence) Imdieke of Meier Grove; Norbert (and Marie) Schleppenbach, Florence Dirkes, Agnes (and Edmond) Wehseler, Albert (and Clarice) Schleppenbach and Elmer Schleppenbach (and special friend Colleen), all of Albany.
